Overview

Anderson has been educating and informing industry executives for over 3 decades. He brings a unique perspective through integrating analytics and AI for decision-making in service firms. Over the last several years he was created a wealth of online content which he then uses for efficient delivery of custom and hybrid educational experiences. Anderson regularly speaks to industry audiences, providing keynotes on the latest developments in technology, AI and analytics and how they are impacting today’s hospitality organizations and other service firms.

I have developed five independent courses on all aspects on data-driven decision making:

    1. Understanding and Visualizing Data
    2. Implementing Scientific Decision Making
    3. Using Predictive Analytics
    4. Modeling Risk and Uncertainty
    5. Optimization and Modeling Simultaneous Decisions

All 5 courses may be taken as a comprehensive approach to data driven decision making in Data Analytics 360 or the first 3 as overview in Data Analytics certificate.

As a follow-on, or perhaps better designed for individuals with more analytics foundations Data Analytics in R offers a 3-course series on creating more scalable analytics solutions in R – the purpose-built programming language for statistical computing, data analysis and visualization. The 3 courses in this series are:

    1. Predictive Analytics
    2. Clustering, Classification and Machine Learning
    3. Prescriptive Analytics

Generative AI and Large Language Models – like OpenAI’s ChatGPT have created immense opportunities for firms and newfound interest in AI.  Ever since I built my first Neural Network model back in the 90’s while I was working on my PhD, I have had a profound interest in analytics. I recently launch a 3-course series on Machine Learning, AI and Automation outlining how to take advantage on this AI evolution. The 3 courses in the series include:

    1. Leveraging Predictive AI
    2. Applying Generative AI
    3. Streamlining Operations with Automation

The examples I use in this series are all set within hospitality but they extend across all service firms.

Pricing in today’s connected world is a very analytical practice and closely connected with digital marketing and online selling. I have developed a 5-course series – Revenue Management and Pricing that highlights the essentials of pricing for today’s service firms. The 5 courses include:

    1. Price and Inventory Controls
    2. Price Sensitivity
    3. Segmentation and Price Optimization
    4. Displacement and Negotiated Pricing
    5. Search Engines and Online Selling

To help facilitate pricing fundamentals Anderson created RMSimulator an online, interactive pricing game designed to teach the fundamentals of competitive pricing along with the moderating effects of digital marketing.

As a result of the pandemic the restaurant industry transitioned in 18 months what took lodging over 10 years to transition through as by the end of the pandemic over 50% of F&B transactions were made digitally.  To address this fundamental change I co-authored a 4 course series on Restaurant Distribution with a couple of my F&B colleagues – I combine my focus on analytics and online selling with their F&B operations expertise to assemble a unique set of materials designed to take F&B operations into the digital world.  The 4 courses in the series include:

    3. Implementing Restaurant Distribution Strategies
